What should you do to fix an ingrown toenail?

I don't think that its too bad, but when someone steps on my toe or something, it really really hurts! HELPWhat should you do to fix an ingrown toenail?
Soak it in Epson Salt and water to clean it and soften the skin, then use a pointed nail file to work the piece of nail out of the skin. That's very painful, so if you don't have a high tolerance for pain you can have a doc numb the area and remove the piece of nail.

If it's a constant problem, I would suggest getting it removed by a doc because they can remove it to where it does not grow back (just that small piece).
