What is the fastest way to get rid of an ingrown toenail?

well summers coming up and im going to be walking around barefoot, except i have a giant ingrown toenail.ive tried surgery and it came back in about 2 months.ive tried soaking it in water once or twice, but i dont know what else to do.What is the fastest way to get rid of an ingrown toenail?
Ok a fast way to get rid of it would be to airmail it to a podiatrist so he can fix it and send it back in a week or so....but the fastest way involves a small self-adhesive target and a shotgun.

Ps. If you opt for this last method, don't go calling an ambulance afterward, they're waaay too expensive......call a tow-truck.

I'd go buy a stamp myself.

Soaking will make the area only tender, but it does not bring relief. You should visit a pedicurist who will remove only the ingrown part. By putting a small cotton ball strip under the nail at area that intends to get ingrown. That might help prevent the nail again to become ingrown. But at least it will allow you some time to visit the same skilled pedicurist again for treatment. As soon as your nail irritates start putting Betadine to prevent infection.
Go to a podiatrist to have it removed correctly. I had mine removed three times by a doctor. I eventually had it removed by a podiatrist and it was virtually pain free, I have not had any problems since. I guarantee it will not grow back as they remove the part of the nail bed that is causing the problem. I could also wear a closed in shoe within a couple of days.
See a doctor again. They can remove it and put a chemical on it so that it doesn't grow back. It is not painful and you should have no more trouble with it.

Until then keep soaking it in warm water with a tablespoon of table salt per pint of water. Do twice a day for about 15-20 minutes each time.

Good luck.
Somethings not right. From personal experience, an ingrown toenail should not grow back if surgically removed. If this does happen you should contact the said dr who operated and voice the concern of yours.
I had the same problem. Your foot specialist should ';kill'; the nail after removing it thereby not allowing it to return. You need to get the process done again I am afraid as it will only get worse.
