How to get rid of an infected ingrown toenail?

LIke any store bought antibotics or do i have to go to the doctore? How to get rid of an infected ingrown toenail?
I'd see a doctor if I were you. Chances are if it's infected, a topical solution will not clear it up. It sounds like you need to be on antibiotics to fight the infection from inside. You can go to a podiatrist or an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in foot and ankle.

They might also have to do a minor surgery to remove the ingrown toenail.

Hope it gets better soon! How to get rid of an infected ingrown toenail?
You could try soaking it in Epsom salt, purchased at any drug store or bandage section of a Walmart/Target type store.

Keep it uncovered, exposed to air as much as possible.

When wearing socks/shoes you can use a regular antibiotic ointment such as Neosporin and a bandaid to protect it.

Also avoid wearing tight fitting shoes and socks.

If you have to cut it, cut it straight across, do not round the edges/corners as this is the most common cause of them.
You have to go to the doctor to have it removed and possibly get a prescription for antibiotics. Sorry.
wrap the toe with an aloe vera slip and cover overnight.

Should be ok by morning, file straight across and lift the ingrown up and clip
Treatment Options

Ingrown toenails should be treated as soon as they are recognized. If they are recognized early (before infection sets in), home care may prevent the need for further treatment:

Soak the foot in warm water 3-4 times daily.

Keep the foot dry during the rest of the day.

Wear comfortable shoes with adequate room for the toes. Consider wearing sandals until the condition clears up.

You may take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain relief.

If there is no improvement in 2-3 days, or if the condition worsens, call your doctor.

You may need to gently lift the edge of the ingrown toenail from its embedded position and insert some cotton or waxed dental floss between the nail and your skin. Change this packing every day.
gurl u have 2 go 2 the doctor my cuz gets ingrown toenails and she always gos to the docter and it gets better in like a week
You can chance it by not going to the doctor but those toes don't grow back if you get gangrene or something and they lop it off. I'd go in and get the script myself.....
get thee to a doctor. they will remove it and it's pretty cool to watch.
you will need to go to a Doctor. They will have to remove the ingrown piece of toe nail. Go now because it might get rely bad. Good Luck
I had a major problem with one. My advise is to go to the doctor and have them take care of it...believe me it will feel sooo much better.
